About South Shore Remembers
South Shore Remembers is an oral history project focused on collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of South Shore as witnessed and experienced by community members. As part of the City of Chicago's Together We Heal initiative, South Shore Remembers is pivotal to enhancing our shared understanding of South Shore’s past by illuminating the personal memories and experiences of those who lived it. The histories will live on in many different iterations including a video gallery exhibition at the Sisters in Cinema Media Arts Center and a Sister Outsider mobile app that features self-guided walking tours of the community.
