Welcome to the Oklahoma State Capitol!

The Oklahoma State Capitol houses the Oklahoma Legislature and executive branch offices. Oklahoma’s Capitol is unique among state capitol buildings for the artwork beautifying its hallways and rotundas and beautifying its grounds.

Two collections of artwork at the Capitol are managed the Oklahoma Arts Council, the state agency for the support and development of the arts in Oklahoma. This includes the Capitol Art Collection, with more than 100 permanent sculptures, murals, and paintings. In addition to enriching a historic space, the collection provides visitors an engaging way to learn about Oklahoma’s history through the events, people, and land depicted in the works.

During your visit:

  • Explore Oklahoma’s rich history through captivating works of art
  • Learn about Oklahoma’s three branches of government
  • Navigate all six floors of the Oklahoma State Capitol
  • Discover the people, places, and events of Oklahoma by reviewing text panels located throughout the building with more information on the Capitol artwork and state history

Visitor Guidelines & Services:

  • To protect and preserve the artworks for future generations, please do not touch the art and always stay at least a foot away.
  • Personal, non-commercial photography without flash is encouraged. Tag the Oklahoma Arts Council and follow us when posting photos of your visit.
  • Food, beverages, gum, large bags and backpacks, and umbrellas are discouraged near the artworks due to the potential for damage.
  • Children, ages 17 years and younger, should always remain with their group and adult chaperone.
  • Restrooms are located on each floor.
  • The Tourism Information Center and Gift Shop is located on the ground floor.
  • A cafe and vending machines are located on the ground floor.
