Tour Overview
Notes: Take this walk Wednesday through Saturday if you want to eat in the café at the musée du vieux Montmartre (the café is closed Mondays and Tuesdays; the museum is open daily). Wear good walking shoes. This walk is strenuous because of the hilly terrain. Like many of the walks in Paris, there are no public restrooms along the way! I have two suggestions: Go before you go and plan to buy a drink or a sandwich at a café so you may use les toilettes. I have been in some wicked rain storms while visiting Montmartre, so if the weather is threatening or if rain is in the forecast, take an umbrella. If you want to ride the Funiculaire train up to the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur instead of climbing the stairs, you’ll need your métro pass or an extra métro ticket.
