Tour Overview
Mentioned in 771, it owes its name to the Roman legionary Cornelio Gallicano. Over the centuries it was disputed between Lucca and Modena for its flourishing activities, such as hemp processing and fishing on the Turrite.
The tour retraces key events, from the 1370 revolt to the annexation to the Kingdom of Italy. Walking through the village, you will discover its strategic role along the Via del Volto Santo.
