Landscape Arboretum at Winona State

About WSU Arboretum

The Winona State University campus was designated a Landscape Arboretum in 2014, serving as both a university and regional educational resource in the Driftless Area of the Upper Midwest. The 75-acre campus, located in the heart of Winona, Minnesota, is home to more than 1,100 trees and a diverse collection of unique gardens. In addition, the Arboretum is responsible for Garvin Heights and Krueger Woods—50 acres of nearby bluffland used for educational and recreational purposes. The mission of the Arboretum is to promote native plants, demonstrate sustainable landscape practices, and provide an outdoor living laboratory for the university community, as well as life-long learning for area residents and visitors. This Arboretum Guide offers self-guided exploration of our tree collection and the compelling gardens found throughout our landscape. Select a tour below to get started.
