THE CATHEDRAL OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY CHURCH 🎧
The Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity Church (often referred to as the Bermuda Cathedral) is an Anglican Church, the Church of England which in Bermuda was renamed the Anglican Church of Bermuda in 1978, and extra-provincial diocese under the Archbishop of Canterbury located on Church Street in the City of Hamilton in Pembroke parish.
The original Trinity Church was designed in the Early English style by James Cranston of Oxford in 1844 and was completed in 1869. Named Trinity Church, it was designated a chapel of the island for the then - Bishop of Newfoundland and Bermuda. St. John's Church was already the parish church for Pembroke Parish and remained so after Trinity Church was constructed. Trinity Church was destroyed by arson in 1884. Scottish architects who had been consulted on the construction of the first building in 1848–1849 and again in 1862, designed the current structure in 1885 in the Gothic Revival style. While designing the eastern portion of the cathedral.
The building committee was chaired by the Bishop of Newfoundland and Bermuda.
The cathedral was constructed between 1886 and 1905, originally to serve, like its predecessor, as a chapel of ease for the Bishop of Newfoundland and Bermuda. It became a cathedral when the Bishop of Bermuda was established as separate from the Bishop of Newfoundland in 1919. The structure is primarily Bermuda limestone, except for several decorative features made from carved Caen stone that was brought in from France. In an unhappy co-incidence, in 1892 the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Newfoundland was destroyed, with much of the city of St. John's, in the Great Fire of 1892.was reconstructed and also completed in 1905.It is one of two cathedrals in Bermuda, the other being the Roman Catholic St Theresa's in Hamilton. Composer was organist at the cathedral from 1959 to 1962. For a small fee, visitors to the cathedral can climb the tower for a view of Hamilton and its harbour.

UNFINISHED CHURCH 🎧
DIASPORA TRAIL
The Unfinished Church on Duke of Kent Street, continue up the hill to Church Folly Lane, you will find it toward the right.
Just as the name suggests, this Gothic structure is an unfinished church designed by William Hay, an architect of Scottish descent. Construction of The Unfinished Church began in 1870 to replace St. Peter’s Church, which was very badly damaged in a storm. The completion of The Unfinished Church was hindered by Parishioners disagreements over fund allocations and the work came to a halt in 1899. A tornado demolished the roof in 1925.
There is no cost to visit this grey stoned majestic landmark. It’s an edifice of archways in the Town of St. George's and is a very popular location for weddings, photo ops, special event backdrops, curious visitors and the consuming photographer. Continue up Government Hill Road to Fort William and the Gunpowder Plot Trail.

Challenge yourself from snorkeling to rock climbing and cliff jumping at TOBACCO BAY BEACH - the #1 beach in ST GEORGE’S, with free WI-FI and a picturesque stop for a photo op. History states the beach was named because tobacco was found growing here many years back. Others say tobacco was shipped from the bay area to James Town. However the history goes, the beach is one of our all-time favorites for snorkeling adventures, where you will see many reef formations, colourful fish and even turtles or lobsters, just a few feet under the warmer waters. It’s a fascinating view of the marine life along with beautiful clusters of coral. Tobacco Bay is ideal for children as it is quite shallow. This is not a pink sandy beach like those found on the southern side of the island. The sand here is normally pale yellow in color.
When there’s a south wind, you will find some of the most sheltered spots in the bay, where you will find cozy romantic caves.
Tobacco Bay Beach Bermuda has columns of limestone rocks 15’ft to 25' ft high that separates the bay from the open ocean. Across the way the rocks depth averages about 10 feet. If you swim off the rocks, you can find your way into the ocean. Some tourist challenge themselves by having fun cliff jumping off the rocks. The view from the top of rocks is simply breathtaking!
