Tour Overview

Welcome to Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa!

(La versión en español del tour está disponible seleccionando "Profile" en la parte inferior de esta página, luego en la página siguiente haga clic en el símbolo de engranaje en la parte superior derecha, seleccione español y luego haga clic en el botón de información en la parte inferior de la página.)

The Mission Docents appreciate your participation in this audio tour, which is expected to last approximately forty-five minutes. During the tour, you will gain insights into the individuals who constructed the Mission, the reasons behind Spain's decision to establish Missions in California, and some unique historical aspects of our Mission.

You can use both the text provided or listen to the audio during your tour. Embedded in the text are photos and videos which will enhance your visit. If using the audio, please be respectful of others and don't use the speaker function on your phone.

The location of the next stop is described in the text and audio. If you need additional help, there is a map at the bottom of the page on your phone, with the current stop highlighted.

This is an active parish church that hosts daily masses, funerals, weddings, and other services. If a service is in progress, you will not be able to access the parts of the tour inside the church (although participation in Mass is always welcome). The guide will provide instructions on how to bypass the church if necessary. Photography is permitted throughout the tour.

Public restrooms are located on the southwest side of Mission Plaza (to the right when facing the plaza from the gift shop) and on the side of the Youth Center in the garden (the brown doors at the side of the building).

You may now commence your tour. Please step out of the gift shop and observe the plaza below until you locate the fountain to your left.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa.
