When you travel on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, you are not just riding a train — you are moving through the heart of Buluwai Country. Long before the tracks were laid, our people walked these mountains, crossed these rivers, and lived with the rhythms of the rainforest. The cliffs, the waterfalls, the great Barron Gorge — they all hold stories that come from the Dreaming, stories passed down through generations.

When the railway was built, it cut through places that are sacred to us. It was hard for our people, but we hold on to the knowledge that the land still speaks.
