Tour Overview

On April 17, 1945, Apeldoorn was liberated — and with Canadian Walk, you can discover this remarkable event for the first time through a powerful audio tour.

We take you on a journey from Canada, along the beaches of Normandy, to the city limits of Apeldoorn — where brave men freed our ancestors. Follow the soldiers who fought and fell for us, from boot camp to liberation, in this intense journey — then and now.

Experience 26 remarkable and personal stories from veterans and resistance fighters, and walk a moment in their wet, worn, and at times unbearably heavy shoes. While World War II rages on, they fight for our freedom. Discover and commemorate their legacy during the Canadian Walk — lest we forget.
Download the Apeldoorn Stories app and start your journey.

Along the route, from April 17 until the end of September, you’ll also find display cases showcasing related historical objects.
