About the tour;
Tour starts at Hilton Garden Inn, Gallup, NM. Go to there and press Green Start button. Founded in 1881, Gallup bills itself as the “Indian Capital of the World” and is the gateway to the Navajo reservation. There are more Indian traders in this town than anywhere else across the Navajo reservation. During certain events and weekends, the city’s 20,000 population grows to over 100,000, with people coming from surrounding Navajo, Hopi, or Zuni Reservation to shop. Since the 1930s, Hollywood has filmed many movies here and in the 40s and 50s, it was frequented by many stars like John Wayne and Ronald Reagen. On this tour, we show you places to buy directly from local craftspeople, and we take you to two museums and a casino stop.
