Lancaster County Timber Frames

Lancaster County Timber Frames Inc., a highly regarded award-winning shop is a small company comprised of a dozen passionate people, all of whom are shareholders. Quality of design, service and workmanship are of much more importance to us than rate of turnover and volume of output.

Forry’s Mill Covered Bridge (1869)

The Forry's Mill Covered Bridge is the last covered bridge that spans Chiques Creek in West Hempfield in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. A county-owned and maintained bridge, its official designation is the Big Chiques #7 Bridge.[2] (Chiques Creek was known as Chickies Creek until 2002).

The bridge has a single span, wooden, double Burr arch trusses design with the addition of steel hanger rods. The deck is made from oak planks.

Siegrist’s Mill Covered Bridge (1885)

Siegrist’s Mill Covered Bridge is among the oldest of 20 Lancaster County-owned covered wooden bridges and was originally built in 1885. In September 2011 floodwaters from Tropical Storm Lee ripped the bridge from its foundation. In May 2013, a 300 ton crane positioned the rebuilt bridge on its new foundation, which had been elevated by two feet from the original level.

Colemanville Covered Bridge (1856)

The Colemanville Covered Bridge spans Pequea Creek. After Hunsecker's Mill Covered Bridge, it is Lancaster County's second-longest single-span covered bridge still being used, at 170 feet. Lancaster county completely rebuilt the bridge in 1992 for $350,000. During the restoration process the bridge was raised by 6 feet and moved west a few feet to protect it from damage in potential future flooding.

Baumgardener's Covered Bridge (Rebuilt 1987)

This bridge spans the Pequea Creek on Byerland Church Road, and is in a somewhat hidden location. It was rebuilt in 1987 after being damaged by floods. A county-owned and maintained bridge, its official designation is the Pequea #10 Bridge.

Lime Valley Covered Bridge (1871)

Neff's Mill Bridge (1875)

The Neff's Mill Covered Bridge or Bowman's Mill Covered Bridge spans the Pequea Creek on the border between West Lampeter Township and Strasburg Township in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. A county-owned and maintained bridge, its official designation is the Pequea #7 Bridge.

Kurtz's Mill Covered Bridge (Rebuilt 1975)

This covered bridge originally stood over the Conestoga River near Hinkletown in Earl Township before it was destroyed by Hurricane Agnes in 1972. It was relocated to this site and rebuilt in 1975.
