You have probably learned about the United States government, including the president and vice president, but did you know that Lake Jackson has its own local government too? Each town has a local government that takes care of issues specific to their area while the United States government deals with issues that affect the entire country.Today you’re going to learn about the responsibilities of your local government and some of Lake Jackson’s local government officials.
Lake Jackson City Hall

City Council Chambers
Our first stop inside is City Council Chambers. The City of Lake Jackson is run by a council/manager form of government. This means that elected city council members and a hired city manager operate together. Lake Jackson’s City Council is made up of a mayor and five city council members. Mayors and members of city council are elected by members of their community to serve two-year terms.Lake Jackson City Council meets on the third Monday of each month in this room. These meetings are open to the public. Community members may attend the meeting in person or watch the meeting streamed online. Wall of Mayors Portraits
Lake Jackson’s City Hall has a wall dedicated to honoring current and past mayors.Gerald Roznovsky is the current mayor of Lake Jackson. He is serving his second term as mayor, which will end at the end of 2025. Before being elected Mayor of Lake Jackson, Mayor Roznovsky was very active in local government. Doris Williams Lake Jackson Civic Center
Address: 333 TX-332, Lake Jackson, TX 77566We left City Hall and walked down the street to the Civic Center.
