Welcome to the Kneeland-Walker House, home of the Wauwatosa Historical Society! We welcome you to take a tour with us and learn about this 1890 Queen Anne style home and its architecture, collections, and the history of the Kneeland and Walker families! The property covers 1.5 acres, and includes the landscaped grounds, the three-story main house, a two-story coach house, and a chicken coop. The home contains nearly 5,800 square feet – there are 14 rooms, including 7 bedrooms. There are 6 bathrooms in the house and another in the chicken coop. Alterations over the years have been minimal and carefully considered. The house has been beautifully maintained for 130 years.
The Kneeland-Walker House and Grounds is a popular site to rent for private functions such as weddings. You can rent just the house, just the grounds, or both. Or for smaller events, such as birthday parties or baby/bridal showers, you can rent the Little Red Store in the Village of Wauwatosa. Operated and maintained by the Wauwatosa Historical Society, the Little Red Store was built in 1854 and is the oldest commercial building in the city.
