For 50 years Charles Todd influenced the science and technology of colonial Australia. He was a giant of his time, setting the foundations for our modern use of electronic communications, astronomy, surveying, meteorology, the postal system, electrical engineering and time standardisation. He was a rare combination of technology entrepreneur and senior public servant.

His full story is all but forgotten!
