Henley South (Inland)

Once sand hills with a scattered covering of coastal daisy bushes, coastal wattle and native grasses ran for many kilometres along the Adelaide coastline, separating the coast from the productive low-lying area further inland.

They were the traditional lands of the Kaurna people for thousands of years before European settlement in the 1830s.

While history is a study of the past, use the power of today’s technology in this mobile tour to uncover its rich stories of people, places, and events beginning after the Henley Hotel opened in 1878 and the horse drawn tramway began its journey from the city to Henley South in 1883.
