Women’s Organizations of Dupont Circle: A Homebase for Civic Engagement
This walking tour highlights eight national women’s activist organizations that have made Dupont Circle their home, and some of their founders, members, and impacts they have had over the last century in Washington, DC and across the United States. Through service, activism, advocacy, and policy-making locally, nationally, and globally, these organizations have offered a training ground, a learning community, and a powerful network for women to rise as leaders in all sectors. The organizations included on this tour promote civic engagement, have a national or international scope, and remain active today. Funded by a HumanitiesDC Vision Partnership grant, the WNDC Educational Foundation created this tour to introduce you to the clubs and the members that have shaped history.
