The cast of Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso was in Amsterdam at the end of April 2022 to shoot for the third season of the award-winning comedy series. Among other places, they filmed here on the Raamgracht.

Aluminium Bridge // Ocean’s Twelve

In the 21st century, the Aluminum Bridge is plagued by tourists who put on love locks. The weight of the heavy locks posed a threat to the bridge's relatively light construction. The drawbridge (long since out of action) connects Staalstraat with Nieuwe Doelenstraat and Kloveniersburgwal. Over the years, the area surrounding the bridge has been used as a backdrop for several feature films like The Diary of Anne Frank, Puppet on a Chain, and Oceans Twelve.

Nieuwe Doelenstraat - Aluminium Bridge // Sense8

This drawbridge was named Aluminium Bridge in 1956 when it became Amsterdam's first bridge with a low-maintenance aluminum deck.

Tuschinski Theater // The Conductor

The Royal Theater Tuschinski (also known as Pathé Tuschinski), built around 1920, was rated the most beautiful cinema in the world by the British magazine Time Out in 2021

Reguliersgracht // Diamonds Are Forever

The canal houses, or grachtenpanden, of Amsterdam, predominantly built in the 17th century, are iconic narrow buildings that line the city's canals. The Reguliersgracht is a transverse canal within the canal ring, connecting the Herengracht to the Lijnbaansgracht.

Keizersgracht // The Hitman's Bodyguard

In The Hitman's Bodyguard, Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) races around the city to protect his new client, Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson).

Skinny Bridge // Diamonds Are Forever

The Skinny Bridge (bridge no. 242) is a double drawbridge across the river Amstel. The present bridge was built in 1934, but the first bridge at this site was built in 1691. Because this bridge was very narrow, the locals called it Skinny Bridge. There is also a local legend that the bridge was named after two skinny sisters who lived on opposite sides of the river. It is said that they had the wooden bridge built to make visiting each other easier.

Skinny Bridge // Ted Lasso

Filmed on location in Amsterdam, the episode "Sunflowers" from the series Ted Lasso showcases much of the city, even though the characters only spend a single night in Amsterdam. Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) profoundly appreciates the city, admiring its beauty, enjoying its stroopwafels, and cherishing the memories he made there with his mother. This affection is why he becomes Roy Kent's (Brett Goldstein) tour guide in Amsterdam, introducing him to several famous landmarks.
