Filming isn’t always what it seems. Movie magic often happens far from the places we think we see — and The Crown is a perfect example.
Casino de la Exposición // Lawrence of Arabia
The Casino de la Exposición in Seville is a Neo-Baroque building constructed for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. Since the Fascist military took power during the Civil War, this building has served as the headquarters of the Spanish Army's ground forces. However, it now functions as a cultural venue for exhibitions and events.
Plaza de España // Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
The Plaza de España (Spain Square) is a prominent building that was constructed to showcase Spain's industry and technology exhibits during the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.

Plaza de España // Kaos
The Plaza de España complex is a huge half-circle structure featuring buildings connected by four bridges over a moat, symbolizing the ancient kingdoms of Spain. At the center of the plaza stands the Vicente Traver fountain.
Palacio // Lawrence of Arabia
The large square, measuring 200 meters in diameter, is uniquely shaped like a crescent and is surrounded by buildings. The concept behind it symbolizes Spain's embrace of its former colonies.
Plaza de las Americas // The Crown
The Plaza de América was designed by architect Aníbal González for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929. The plaza is bordered by three buildings, also constructed by González for the exhibition, each featuring a distinct architectural style: the Museum of Popular Arts (in Neomudéjar style), the Archaeological Museum (in Neo-Renaissance style), and the Royal Pavilion (in Gothic style).
Plaza América // Lawrence of Arabia
The Plaza de América was also a filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, where the soldier parade scene in Damascus was shot. The Museum of Popular Arts and Customs can be seen in the background as they enter the Archaeological Museum.
