Tour Overview

Hello, Bonjour, Tansi, Aaniin, Taanishii, Edlanete, Ho/Han, Boozho, Wachiya!

Land Acknowledgement:

We would like to begin our tour in the spirit of and commitment to reconciliation, by acknowledging that we are situated on Treaty 1 territory and that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak (Cree), Anishininiwak (Oji-Cree), Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

Walking Tour Instructions:

One Heart, Two Rivers, Four Directions takes approximately 60 minutes and covers about 3 kilometres. GPS coordinates and a map of The Forks National Historic Site shows the route and will help guide you along the way. There are 9 stops containing a mix of text, visual, and audio elements.

Tour Terrain:

The path surfaces are paved, fine gravelled, or have interlocking stones. Along the route there are places to sit and rest. The terrain is relatively flat. There is one paved ramp that slopes down to the river between stop 3 and stop 4, and an upwards sloping section of trail at the opposite end of the river portion of the walk between stop 6 and stop 7.
