Cayuga Seneca Canal Trail

The Cayuga-Seneca Canal Trail is a 4.5-mile pathway beginning in Waterloo, and ending at Seneca Lake State Park. The trail begins near Lock 4 in Waterloo and heads towards Seneca Lake. The path follows the canal through a picturesque landscape and wetlands, letting hikers experience the natural beauty of the area at any pace. The trail surface is flat making it ideal for a variety of uses, including walking, biking, wheelchair use, etc. A tunnel under 96A provides a direct connection to Seneca Lake State Park.

Women's Rights National Hist. Park

Full title: Women's Rights National Historical Park;Women’s Rights National Historical Park tells the story of the first Women’s Rights Convention, held in Seneca Falls, New York on July 19-20, 1848. It is a story of struggles for civil rights, human rights, and equality, global struggles that continue today.

National Women's Hall of Fame

The National Women's Hall of Fame is an American institution founded to honor and recognize women. It was incorporated in 1969 in Seneca Falls, New York, and first inducted honorees in 1973. As of 2024, the Hall has honored 312 inductees. The organization also has a museum and giftshop for visitors to enjoy right along the canal in the former knitting mill.

Cayuga Lake State Park

Cayuga Lake State Park's terrain is flat at lakeshore, where the beach and sun lawns are, then slopes gently uphill to campsites and cabins. The scenic highlight of the park is its expansive view of Cayuga Lake. In the shallow water near the park, largemouth bass, bullheads and carp thrive. In deeper water, anglers can catch northern pike, small mouth bass, lake trout, landlocked salmon and many other varieties of fish. The park has a boat launch, playground, playing field.

Mural Mania started in Lyons in 2007 with the first mural, Winston’s Dream, being installed during Clean Sweep in April of 2007. Lyons murals include The Lyons Firefighters Mural, dedicated to all past & present Lyons Firefighters. The Hotchkiss Museum Mural which depicts the “essence” of the business operations which at one time produced the world-famous Hotchkiss Peppermint Oil. As well as a vast variety of others, including an artistic rendering of Sal the Mule.

Erie Canal Heritage Park

Park gives visitors an authentic glimpse into life on the Erie Canal in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries including the enlarged Erie Canal Lock 52 and the Erie House Complex, which dates back to 1895 and includes the Erie House Tavern and Hotel, a mule barn and blacksmith shop. The newly constructed Visitor’s Center offers interactive displays and educational materials.

A great place to tour if you love classic racing cars! Dozens of exhibits showcase historic race cars, classic autos, unique racing memorabilia and rarely seen photographs. The gift shop offers a wide variety of collector items.

Frontenac Park

Frontenac Park is a twenty-seven acre municipal park located along the northeast shore of Cayuga Lake. The park has two picnic pavilions and a gazebo available for reservation for your special event. Frontenac Island is visible from any location in the park. Park is open from sun-up to sun-down.

Montezuma Heritage Park

Montezuma Heritage Park boasts 7 trails and 140 acres that loop around the historic remains of the early Erie Canal. It runs along the Seneca River on one side and a huge marsh which borders the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge on the other. On the Cayuga-Seneca Lock 11 Trail you will find the Meil's Drydock along with a lookout deck alongside the marsh.At the Highland Street entrance there is a map which will show you where the lookout deck is located.From the outlook you can see acres and acres of the marshland, boasting many different types of birds and water fowl. The marsh backs up to the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge Center.

Long Point State Park

Located on the east shore of Cayuga Lake just South of Aurora NY, in Finger Lakes Wine country, Long Point State Park provides a 4-lane boat launch, a modern playground, picnic areas, fishing access, lake access, 4.5 miles of hiking trails, and spectacular sunsets over Cayuga Lake.The easy access to the Cayuga Lake shore makes it popular for paddle-sports enthusiasts and fishermen alike. Waterfowl and migratory birds can be viewed from the shoreline.
