Tour Overview

When the Taylor Screening Room opened in 2024, the design challenge posed to the architects was “what would it look like if Tampa Theatre’s original architect, John Eberson, designed a personal screening room for his family in the 21st century?”

Once the room was finished, including nods to the historic building like the replica seats and the “stars” in the ceiling, the Tampa Theatre team filled the space with photos, newspaper clippings, and personal ephemera that would have been significant to Eberson and his family. In fact, we are fortunate to be connected with John Eberson’s grandson, Maury Eberson Brassert, his great-granddaughter Cynthia, and their family, who provided many of the photos on the gallery wall.
