Tour Overview
The Women Who Shaped Philadelphia This is a 90-minute audio-guided walking tour through Old City and Society Hill in Philadelphia. I am so glad that you are here today. Over the next 90 minutes, we’ll stroll through some of the oldest streets in America, Old City and Society Hill, uncovering powerful yet often overlooked stories of women who shaped this city and the nation. These are stories of revolutionaries and poets, healers and escapees, activists and artists. You may not find their statues on every corner, but they are still here. They are here in the stones, in the stories, and in the lives they changed. I invite you to take this walk not as a tourist, but as a seeker, someone curious about what’s been forgotten and ready to listen. So let’s begin where the American story took root, near the shadow of Independence Hall. Our first stop is just ahead, and it begins with a whisper from the past.
