Tour Starting Point
Trinity College is exceptionally well-served by Dublin's public transport network, acting as a central hub for buses, trams, and trains.
Note: Dublin does not currently have a Metro system. The equivalent urban rail network is the DART and Commuter Rail.
The Easiest Way to Find It:
Commuter Rail & DART (Urban Rail)
The closest train station is a short walk from the college and is a major hub for the DART coastal service.
Station: Pearse Station (Westland Row)
Lines: DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) and some Commuter Rail lines (e.g., to Maynooth/Sligo).
Walking Time: Approximately 5-7 minutes. Exit the station, turn left, and walk towards the city centre. The college walls will be on your right.
Luas (Tram)
Dublin's tram system has two lines that stop within easy walking distance of the college.
Luas Station: St. Stephen's Green
Line: Green Line
Walking Time: Approximately 3-5 minutes. This station is at the southern end of Grafton Street. Walk north up Grafton Street, and you will arrive at the main entrance to Trinity College.
Luas Station: Abbey Street
Line: Red Line
Walking Time: Approximately 7-10 minutes. This station is on the north side of the River Liffey. Walk south across the river (via O'Connell Street or the Ha'penny Bridge) to reach the college.
Bus
This is the most comprehensive way to reach Trinity College, as nearly every city bus route in Dublin passes by or very close to it.
Bus Stop: Trinity College / College Green
Lines: This is a major stop for dozens of routes, including 11, 13, 37, 39, 46a, 145, 155, and many more.
Airport Bus: The Airlink 747 & 757 stop here directly.
Walking Time: The stop is directly outside the main college gates.
