Your journey begins at the bustling City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen), leading you into the famous pedestrian street Strøget for a stop at the culinary delights of Torvehallerne Market.

Ascend the unique spiral ramp of The Round Tower (Rundetårn) for sweeping city views, then immerse yourself in ancient masterpieces at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek (Art Museum).

Continue to the majestic Christiansborg Palace before strolling along the canal to the iconic Nyhavn (The Colourful Harbour), famous for its 17th-century townhouses and boats.

Witness the Royal Guard at Amalienborg Palace (The Royal Residence) and visit the beloved The Little Mermaid (Den Lille Havfrue) statue.

Explore the regal history and crown jewels at Rosenborg Castle (Rosenborg Slot), and cap off your adventure with a visit to the enchanting Tivoli Gardens, where twinkling lights and historic rides create a perfect fairy-tale ending.

Tour Starting Point

Nyhavn is exceptionally well-connected, particularly by Metro and the unique harbour bus system.

The Easiest Way to Find It:

Metro

The closest Metro station is a major interchange hub, providing access to most of the city.

Metro Station: Kongens Nytorv

Line M1 & M2: Run from the city centre to the southern and eastern suburbs (including the airport on M2).

Line M3 & M4 (City Ring): These lines form a circle around the city centre, connecting to all other Metro lines and major stations like Nørreport and Central Station.

S-Tog (Urban Trains)

While not directly on Nyhavn, the main S-Tog station is a very short walk away.

S-Tog Station: Nørreport

Lines: A, B, Bx, C, E, H

Walking Time: Approximately 5-7 minutes. This is Copenhagen's busiest station, connecting the city to the wider region. Walk south from Nørreport, through the pedestrianised streets, and you will reach Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn.

Harbour Buses (Water Buses)

This is a fantastic and scenic way to travel. Nyhavn is a key stop on Copenhagen's water bus network, and a standard public transport ticket is valid.

Harbour Bus Stop: Nyhavn

Lines 901, 902, 903: These water buses connect Nyhavn to the Opera House, the Black Diamond Royal Library, Fisketorvet (shopping mall), and other key harbourfront locations. It's a public transport service that doubles as a cheap harbour tour.

Bus

Many city bus routes stop at or near the square of Kongens Nytorv, which is right next to Nyhavn.

Bus Stop: Kongens Nytorv

Lines: 1A, 15, 26, 37, and several others. These buses connect the area to various parts of central Copenhagen.

International Ferries

The area is also a hub for international ferry travel.

Ferry Terminal: Kvæsthusbroen

DFDS Seaways: Ferries to Oslo (Norway) depart from this terminal, which is just a 5-minute walk from Nyhavn.

Stena Line: Ferries to Helsingborg (Sweden) also depart from a nearby terminal.
