If you are on the train, please go to the train station opposite the car park and DO NOT come back to the bus - your driver will tell you the timings to meet them at the train.

If you are heading for the ferry over to the Isle of Skye, please come back to the bus - your guide will be telling you all the relevant times as you come off the bus.

There are many cafes and restaurants to enjoy such as the Cornerstone, the Tea Garden Cafe, the Bakehouse, the Cabin, Crab and Creel, the Fishmarket Deli, Bloom and Graze and the Scot Mid supermarket.

Take a stroll along the waterfront - if you have time before the ferry or departing, you can also do a circular loop above the town - look for maps in Mallaig or ask the guide or a local. It will take approximately 45 minutes for the loop.

Browse the shops for souvenirs or go for a walk along the pier to the coloured houses or up the hill to the Lump for views over Portree and the harbour.

After the talk, you have time to go for a walk - either the waterfall walk (The Juniper path - 20 minutes) or the walk near the forest (The Oak path - 30 minutes). You also will have time to walk around the centre, get a coffee or find out more information on the work they do at Dundreggan.

There are plenty of lovely restaurants in the city, including Hou Hou Mei, Little Italy, the Black Isle Brewery, Rocpool, the Mustard Seed, Cheese and Tomatin, La Tortilla Asesina, Scotch and Rye, Macgregors and many more. There are supermarkets within walking distance, incuding Scot Mid, Marks and Spencers and Morrisons. There will be some cafes open early in the morning, including Perk, the Bakery and Xoko. If you are looking for some nice bars, have a look out for Macgregors, the Malt Room, Gellions, Jonny Foxes, Black Isle Bar, the Auctioneers and Lauders. If you are looking for live music, head to Church Street, where you can find Macgregors, the Highlander Bar and Hootenanny's. If you want to go for a walk, you can head down the River Ness to the Ness islands, a 30 to 40 minute walk south of the city centre.

The Clansman Loch Ness Stop

If you are on the cruise ship - please follow the guide down to the Clansman harbour (using the passage under the road) and they will get your ticket and you into the queue for the cruise. There is a cafe, toilets and both indoor and outdoor seating on the boat.

If you are not on the cruise ship, you can still get tickets for the cruise if you want to go. If not, you can walk down to the banks of Loch Ness, head to the cafe and souvenir shop inside the hotel for some food or walk above the loch via the path at the back of the car park - it is steep uphill but you get some lovely views of Loch Ness.
