Tour Overview
Welcome
The Royal Naval Dockyard, on Ireland Island in Sandys Parish, was built in the early 1800s as Britain’s principal naval base in the Western Atlantic. For over a century it stood as a strategic fortress and shipyard, defended by massive stone walls and artillery. After its military role ended, Dockyard was reborn as a cultural hub, with museums, shops, and entertainment. It remains one of Bermuda’s most visited attractions — where history, heritage, and modern tourism meet.
