Dunguaire Castle

Dunguaire Castle has stood proudly, in various forms, on the site of the 7th-century stronghold of Guaire, the King of Connaught, for centuries. This majestic castle bridges 13 centuries of Irish history, from skirmishes, battles, and sieges, through to the literary revival of the early 20th century. The map pin for this stop directs you to the nearby car park as the road at the Castle is quite narrow.

Hazel Mountain Chocolate

Hazel Mountain Chocolate is one of Ireland's only bean-to-bar chocolate factories. Its shop, cafe, and factory are a wonderful stop for a coffee (or, of course, some chocolate!), and the staff here are more than happy to give visitors a quick tour of the facility.

Corcomroe Abbey

It is thought that Corcomroe Abbey was built towards the end of the 12th century, most likely by Dónal Mór Ua Bríain. The Cistercian Abbey is situated in a secluded location, about 9 kilometers (by road) East of Ballyvaughan in the famous Burren region of County Clare.

Aillwee Cave

Located in the heart of the Burren, In County Clare, Aillwee Cave has to be one of the most spectacular views of Galway Bay. It is a must for all who find themselves in the area. There is also a wonderful Bird of Prey sanctuary on site (Seasonal dates and times apply)

The tour of the Cave consists of a 30-minute stroll through the beautiful caverns – of which, roughly 300 meters (980 ft) of cave passage is open to the public, one-third of the total length of the cave. Marvel at the frozen waterfall and explore the now-extinct brown bears' bones.

Poulnabrone Dolmen

Poulnabrone Dolmen (meaning “Hole Of Sorrows” in Irish,) a wonderful example of an early Neolithic burial site dating to over five thousand years old – a full one thousand years older than the Great Pyramids at Giza!

Cliffs Of Moher

The Cliffs Of Moher are the second most visited site in Ireland and at over 700 feet above sea level, are one of the best photo opportunities in the country.

Doolin

Doolin is a quaint little village, just a few short kilometers northeast of the Cliffs Of Moher. It is famous as a home of traditional Irish music, and with its many bars and cafes, would make an ideal location for a lunch stop.

Fanore Beach

Fanore is a beautiful sandy beach located near Ballyvaughan in County Clare. It is definitely worth a photostop and, weather permitting, a stroll on the beach.

Black Head

The view over Galway bay as you take the turn by Black Head Lighthouse is simply spectacular! In the distance, if the weather permits, there will be wonderful views of Connemara and "The Twelve Pins" mountain range.
