The secret exile order from King Carlos II of Spain in 1767 to suppress the Society ofJesus (Jesuits) is the reason behind Exilios existence. It was in this very building more than 250 years ago, the Jesuits taught, resided and more than likely enjoyed their evening brew, until their sudden expulsion.The bar counter is made of solid mahogany, and it is carved with 5 figurebeads of the ships that will support the bar, thesefigurebeads correspond to thefive main ships that took the Jesuits back to Toledo in Spain after the exile.
