If you aren't up to driving in Sarasota traffic you can still learn so much about Sarasota County history by just opening the app and, in the comfort of your home, reading or listening to the narrative and looking at the pictures for each stop.

THIS TOUR STARTS ON GULFSTREAM AVE., SARASOTA - PARK JUST PAST MAIN ST. NEAR DOUGHBOY MEMORIAL

Suggest tour be taken in morning because of traffic and parking, especially during tourist season. Farmers Market is on Lemon Ave on Saturday’s between 7 am & 2 pm.
The best place to start the tour is by parking along Gulfstream Ave just past Main St near the Dough Boy/War Memorial at JD Hamel Park to get a better idea of the location of Hover Arcade, Scots Landing and Halton Sanitarium. You can walk around the area after listening to the audio. (In this area is back in parking and further down the street is pull in parking.) After listening to the audio, go to the other end of Gulfstream Ave. Sign says no outlet, but you can go around the circle to see Church of the Redeemer, where we will be exiting on McAnsh St next to the church, to go by the Mira Mar Apartments on Palm Ave.
