Freiburg Beergarden Hike

We pack all the beergardens in the Freiburg area into one fun hike. We take you hiking into the forest and along the river in pursuit of our beergardens - some are not found on the tourist radar. This can be an all-day hike, or you can drop out and short-cut at any point - because you might end up having too much fun, or find your Zen and stay a while, somewhere along the way.

Trail Info

• Regular trail length: 10 km / 6.2 miles (pass by 5 beergarden), estimated time needed without stops: 3.5 hours
• Shorter trail: 5 km / 3.1 miles (pass by 4 beergarden)

Good to know. If you are interested in stopping at some of the restaurants/beergardens, make sure to visit their websites prior to your hike to make sure they are open when you pass by. Some places open later on during the day (check opening hours before your hike), so a late start might be better.

When to go. This hike is recommended in late spring and summer when the outdoor seating at restaurants is open

Opening Hours.

• Biergarden 1: daily (weather permitting)
• Biergarden 2: daily, 11.30 AM-3 PM and 5.30 PM-11 PM
• Biergardem 3: daily (weather permitting), Monday- Friday 5 PM - midnight, Saturday 2 PM - midnight Sunday & Public Holiday - 11 AM - midnight
• Biergarden 4: daily (weather permitting), indoor seating available anytime in the restaurant starting 11 AM
• Biergarden 5 (covered in the 10 km hike only): daily, 12 PM - 8 PM

Starting your hike. Once you downloaded the tour click on 'Start Tour'. On the next screen you will see a hiking map and three small dots in the top right corner of the map. Click on the dots and read through 'how the App works'. Then return to the map. You are ready to go!
