Collett Park

Collett Park is located on the corner of 7th & Maple Avenue. This park is listed on the National Register of Historical Places, dedicated in 1883. Collett hosts an indoor rental facility, perfect for showers, birthdays or receptions, as well as outdoor shelters with nearby restroom facilities. Deming Park

Deming Park is located on the East side of Terre Haute at Fruitridge and Ohio Boulevard. Deming is the largest park in our system, consisting of 177 acres. It is home to the Oakley Playground, Clark-Lansdbaum Holly Arboretum, an 18-hole disc golf course, a public pool and a variety of sport facilities including basketball and tennis courts.The Torner Center is located in the heart of Deming Park, between the Oakley Playground and the Spirit of Terre Haute Miniature Train. Dobbs Park

Located on the East Side of Terre Haute at 5170 East Poplar St., Dobbs Park is a unique City Park which includes a Nature Center and a Native American Museum with an heirloom garden. Fairbanks Park

Fairbanks Park is located on the banks of the Wabash River at 1st and Oak Street. Fairbanks is the site of many events and festivals throughout the year including our Banks of the Wabash Festival.Fairbanks has several outdoor shelters available for rental, as well as a gazebo and the amphitheater which is perfect for concerts, plays etc. Enjoy the playground with restroom facilities near by and take advantage of the boating and fishing opportunities on the Wabash.https://www.terrehaute.in.gov/departments/parks/parks-information/fairbanks-park.html

Forest Park

Brazil’s Forest Park on the south side of the city of Brazil has 49 acres of woodland, a 1/4 mile paved walking/go-cart track, 40,000 square foot wood playground, a four-field baseball complex, 13 picnic shelters, and a 267,000 gallon swimming pool. The park has hosted the Brazil Rotary 4th celebration for over 80 years. Its band shell has been home to the Brazil Concert Band since the 1920s and can easily seat 700 people. A large pavilion can easily put up to 1,000 people under roof for concerts and convocations. The Chafariz dos Contos (from "contos de réis", a former Brazilian currency) was given by the country of Brazil as a gift to the city, as a symbol of friendship, and was assembled in Forest Park in 1956. It is a replica of the original fountain located in Ouro Preto, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, built in 1774.https://claycountyparks.org/parks

Fowler Park

Located one-half mile off U.S. 41 on Oregon Church Road, Fowler Park serves as a multipurpose park. Inside Fowler Park are two lakes, a campground, picnic shelters, playgrounds, trails, a covered bridge and a pioneer village with a working gristmill. Fowler Lake, 25.9 acres, has a boat launch, a beach for swimming. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish and black crappie. The second lake is located on the west side of the park hidden behind the hillside. Largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill are found in it.Peninsulas on the east side of the lake comprise the campground. Fowler Park is the only county park where campsites are located next to the lakes edge. The campground has approximately 60 modern sites with electricity and approximately 15 primitive campsites. Shower houses, restrooms, and a dump station are available to campers. Camping season each year begins May 1st and concludes October 15th.Two picnic shelters on the parkland each hold between 150-200 people. Hawthorn Park

Located on East Old Maple Avenue, Hawthorn is six-tenths of a mile north of U.S. 40 off of Hunt Road. The park is divided into two major areas of land, Hawthorn Park on the west and J.I. Case Wetland Wildlife Refuge on the east. On the park’s south boundary is Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the Heritage Road National Trail.Inside Hawthorn Park is a lake, campground, picnic shelters, playgrounds, archery range, trails, and labyrinth. Burns Lake, 18.3 acres, has a boat launch and fishing docking located around the lakes north side. The lake is stocked with bluegill, redear sunfish, large-mouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie. The campground, located on the west side of the park, has approximately 70 modern sites with electricity and approximately 15 primitive sites. Shower houses, restrooms, and a dump station are available to campers.Three picnic shelters on the parkland each hold 200 people are available for year-round rentals. A large playground is located between Dogwood Shelter, a fully accessible trail stretches 1,850 feet in length. On the east side of the trail, a wildlife observation shelter overlooks J.I. McCormick's Creek State Park

Explore the spectacular limestone canyon, flowing creek, and scenic waterfalls that highlight Indiana’s first state park. Hike trails featuring diverse forest trees, spicebush, and native wildflowers, including a trail through Wolf Cave Nature Preserve and an accessible trail at the recently renovated nature center. Experience history as you climb the fire tower, use shelter houses or cross the stone arch bridge created by the Civilian Conservation Corps, or examine the historic Statehouse Quarry near White River, which furnished limestone used for the Indianapolis Statehouse. Relax in the lobby of Canyon Inn, open to all park visitors, or watch birds from the dining room porch. Catch cultural events such as concerts in the park amphitheater or attend the several special events hosted annually at the park. Prairie Creek Park

Situated on West French Drive, Prairie Cree Park is four miles west of U.S. 41 and one and six-tenths miles east of State Road 63, making it accessible from either highway. The park is a multipurpose park. Its distinctive feature is a beautiful grove of old growth sugar maple trees that, in the fall of the year, turn to brilliant golden yellows, reds, and oranges.Within the park proper, one long, moderate, continuous trail winds in and about the grounds with numerous access points. A small family graveyard sits on a hilltop, undisturbed in the woods on the east side of the park. Members of the Kerchieval family rest in peace at this site.On its south border, Prairie Creek Park adjoins a 13.4 acre lake. At the front of the park is a small 1.8 acre pond. Channel catfish, large mouth bass, redear sunfish, bluegill, and black crappie can be found in these bodies of water.The campground has approximately 40 modern sites. The campground is divided into two sections, one much smaller than the other. A modern shower house, restrooms, and dump station are available to campers.Two picnic shelters (Maple and Persimmon) on the parkland each seat 80 people comfortably and are available as rentals year-round. A large playground is available and is adjacent to the Maple Shelter. Across from the Maple Shelter is a ball field with a backstop. Centered between the campground and the shelters is a multipurpose court with two tennis courts and basketball goals that attract enthusiasts of both sports. Nearby are four sets of horseshoe pits. Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area

Includes the Raccoon State Recreation Area and Historic Mansfield Roller Mill.Native forest and large rock outcrops line the upper part of Big Raccoon Creek. Cecil M. Harden Lake resulted from the damming of the creek for flood control. The lake also provides recreation, wildlife management and economic benefits. A variety of fish, flora and fauna can be viewed at the property.Nearby Historic Mansfield Roller Mill is a preserved, working example of industrialization in Indiana at the turn of the 20th century. This 1880s flour mill uses machinery from that time to show visitors how flour and cornmeal were processed from wheat and corn. It is an almost complete and unchanged example of flour mills from this time period.Water safety matters! Shakamak State Park

Ready to relax? Let's head for Shakamak. Three man-made lakes offer 400 acres of water for fishing and boating while a family aquatic center provides swimming fun. About two-thirds of the campsites are in a wooded area, offering cool shade in the summer and beautiful fall colors in autumn. Nearby is a play field area for family fun. Turkey Run State Park

Beautiful Turkey Run State Park has something for everyone to enjoy!Hiking Trails: With over 14 miles of easy to very rugged trails in one of the most unique areas of the state, hiking is one of the most popular activities at Turkey Run State Park.Picnic Areas: Throughout the park are shady picnic areas with tables and grills. The reservable shelter houses have more amenities like electricity, restrooms and even playgrounds.Horseback riding: Enjoy guided horseback rides on miles of bridle trails through the park. Craig Park

Craig Park has roughly 97 acres with approximately three miles of walking trails, primitive campgrounds, two large lakes for fishing, a growing softball complex known as Veterans Field, and new soccer fields that are being built. The park has hosted an annual fishing fun day in September for 12 years and has multiple picnic areas, large open areas for games and family gatherings, large quantities of wildlife including ducks, geese, deer, beaver, raccoons, owls, woodpeckers, squirrels, and groundhogs.https://brazil.in.gov/brazil-parks/

Hendrix Street Park

Hendrix Street Park is a 1.4-acre neighborhood park with a playground, two basketball courts, picnic shelter, mini picnic shelter, tee-ball field, and a large open area for field games and picnicing. Clay County Skate Park

The Clay Community Skate Park, construction spearheaded by Roberta and Chuck Weliever, on Wesleyanan Church Street in Brazil was built with many contributors and opened in 2014. There are usually about 15-30+ youth at the skate park. They keep their skate park clean, and in good shape. The skaters treat each other with respect and go out of their way to help new skaters and bikers. When you pass by the skatepark, get out of your car. Stand beside the fence or wall (spectators are not allowed inside the skate park) and watch these youngsters as they practice their skills and finally enjoy skating or biking on their skate park. Goshorn Park

Clay City is a 147 year-old town (Est. 1873, current pop. ~ 850) in Clay County, located in south central Indiana. It began as a railroad town supported by farming, sawmills, mining, brick and flour factories, several schools and a pottery. Before World War I, it appeared that Clay City might even become a college town. At the time, the town had a renowned baseball team, a literary society, many college graduates, numerous inventors, and was considered so progressive it was dubbed “the Athens of the Wabash Valley.”Most recently, Clay City’s “Mayberry of the Midwest” sign, slogan and the image that represents, captured America’s interest and attention. The Today Show (audience of 16 million viewers) broadcast the “Mayberry of the Midwest” story live on February 4, 2000 with locals Daryl Andrews and Jo Beth Haviland being interviewed. In this publicity aftermath, more than two hundred newspapers nationwide continued the coverage, while numerous magazines and other media outlets stated they will be doing follow-ups, articles and interviews throughout the year.

Sullivan County Park and Lake

Sullivan County Park and Lake contains a 468 acre lake constructed in 1968 for swimming, boating and fishing.
