Landmark Theatre
Originally known at Loew's State Theatre, the Landmark Theatre was first opened in February of 1928. To this day, there are numerous reports of sightings and audios of ghosts that are claimed to haunt the theatre. One of the more prominent spirits is that of a former actress of the theatre named Clarissa. She died by falling over the side of one of the balconies. Audience members and staff have claimed to see her ghostly apparition or smell her signature lilac perfume. Another active spirit is that of a stagehand named Oscar. He was accidentaly electrocuted one day while he was at work in the theatre. Numerous staff members have claimed to see him still attempting to mess with the lighting board backstage, just like he did the day that he died. The third major ghost is of a janitor named Charlie. Charlie was a janitor and caretaker of the building for a very long time and died of natural causes in the building. 13 Curves Road
13 Curves road, or Cedarvale Rd. as it is more likely known as is located just west of the city of Syracuse between NY-80 and Split Rock Rd. This haunted road is most known for the ghostly apparition of a bride that looks like she is covered in blood. It is said that more than a century ago in the early 1900's, that a young couple was killed along it on the night of their wedding. Their car veered off of the road and landed in the creek, killing both of them instantly. People that drive the raod now say that they have seen the woman's spirit with a white dress, glowing eyes and sometimes a lantern walking down the road's curves searching for her groom. Split Rock Quarry
Split Rock Quarry was first etablished around 1834 and became the home for most of Syracuse's hazardous munitions for World War I around 1915. Then, in 1918, the plant suddenly exploded and killed more than 50 workers. The only parts of it that can be seen today are the rocks themselves and the rock crusher. Visiters to the area today are said to have heard voices and footsteps that have no explanation to them and some even say that they have heard the eerie sound of the rock crusher starting to rev up as if the workers are starting their days just as they did over 100 years ago. Wayside Irish Pub
The original building that the pub stands in was known as the Munro House and it was built sometime in the 1800's. Some say that the reports of ghost activity at the location can be dated back to the 1960's. Today, patrons of the pub state that they have seen the ghostly figure of a revolutionary war soldier, The spirit of a girl named Sara, or the friendly spirit of a man named Harry. It is said that Harry died on the premises when he had a heart attack on either the 2nd or 3rd floor. and Sara committed suicide by hanging on the 3rd floor. Whiskey Hollow Road
Whiskey Hollow Rd. is located between W Dead Creek Rd. and County Rd. 120 in the town of Van Buren in the Syracuse area. It is a very dark forest road about 5 miles long that is filled with uban myths about ghosts, satanic rituals and KKK practices. It is said that two of the ghosts that are known to raom the road are those of a man and his wife. It is said that the man was imprisoned in a shack somewhere along the road and died there awaiting his corporal punishment. His distraught wife then decided to hang herself in a nearby tree when she heard the news. Brickyards
This part of the Syracuse area was famous for its specific type of Onondaga brick. Some say that one of the brickyards is haunted by a gargoyle that used to be a statue at one of the buildings that used to stand in the area. People walking the area have reported to have heard strange winds and sounds that only they are able to hear, while nobody else does and their flashlights have appeared to be malfunctioning and turning on and off by themselves while in the area, yet then return to their normal working order right after leaving. Now known as Nick and Angelo's Ristorante, this restaurant is located on Oswego Rd. in Liverpool, New York. Local story telling shares that many people believe that many years ago, a man shot his wife on the premises. Some previous and current staff members and patrons say that they have seen her cold, ghostly apparition appear along with an overwhelming sense of uneasiness and dread. Woodlawn Cemetery
Woodlawn Cemetery is located on Grant Blvd. in the city of Syracuse. It was first established in 1881 and is the final resting place of over 100 civil war soldiers. Many people have claimed to get a very uncomfortable and eerie feeling as soon as the sun goes down. Many EVP's have been captured on the grounds, along with people hearing strange sounds such as screams, whimpers and crying.
