Hardie Building

The Main Studio BuildingThe Hardie Building is the main studio building which includes two gallery spaces, our library and studio spaces that support Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration, Painting and Drawing, Photography and Printmaking.

301 Cabot

Sculpture Department, Senior Studios and Gallery SpacesThe 301 Cabot Street building starts with a large open gallery space with floor to ceiling store front windows. As you walk towards the back of the building you will find yourself in a maze of senior studio spaces that are occupied by our fine art focused students. At the back of the building lives our Sculpture department with a large woodshop, a stone and plaster carving area, space for ceramics as well as a fireproof welding room.

275 Cabot

Our New Student HousingExpected to be completed in the Spring of 2021, Montserrat’s newest student housing will be on the top floor of the 275 Cabot Street city block. This space will be reminiscent of our apartment style housing across campus and will house approximately 40 students. Each apartment will have separate living spaces, double bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms and the common spaces will include student work areas as well as a gallery.

248 Cabot Street

Liberal Arts and Administrative Offices248 Cabot Street is in the heart of Downtown Beverly. This building is home to the Office of the President, Academic Dean, Admissions and Financial Aid. It also includes newly renovated gallery space, our Illustration Senior studios, liberal art classrooms along with a large open studio classroom we’ve dubbed ‘The Underground’.

Digital Fabrication Lab

Interdisciplinary MakerspaceThe Digital Fabrication Lab is a space that crosses many disciplines. The state-of-the-art equipment includes 3D printers, vinyl cutters, laser cutters and virtual reality equipment to name a few. Students can take formal classes in this space or utilize the equipment during open lab hours.

7 Winter Street

Student Housing7 Winter Street has 3 apartments, one on each floor. Each apartment has a large kitchen and living room, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

9 Winter Street

Student Housing9 Winter Street is one of the older houses that the College owns. This victorian era house has 2 apartments with lots of historic architecture details. This house is conveniently located near the Hardie Building and shares a small open green space with its neighbor, 7 Winter Street.

Student Village

Student HousingBuilt in 2009, The Student Village is our largest housing option on campus. Sitting directly across the street from the Hardie Building, the Student Village has 13 apartments ranging from 2 bedroom units up to 4 bedroom units. All apartments are equipped with full kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms and have access to a laundry room as well as the college’s student lounge.

41 Essex Street

Student Housing41 Essex Street is a recently renovated colonial house with hardwood floors, 8 bedrooms, 2 kitchens and 3 bathrooms. The kitchen on the first floor was completely renovated in 2018 and has 2 large refrigerators, granite countertops and space for students to eat and hang out.

42/44 Essex Street

Student HousingHousing at Montserrat is quite unique. About 80% of our student population live in our apartment-style housing. 42/44 Essex Street is a three floor duplex with the kitchen and living spaces on the first floor with bedrooms and bathrooms on the second and third floors.
