School of Dentistry

The UMKC School of Dentistry is serving the community by delivering a world-class education to the next generation of dental leaders. We offer a comprehensive range of oral health care degrees including a Doctor of Dental Surgery, continuing education, dental hygiene and specialty advanced degrees that situate our graduates as industry leaders. In our newly renovated Simulation Lab, students will learn the fundamental procedures of dentistry. The new technology includes simulation manikins, monitors at each workstation, water and vacuum suction. The simulated procedures are truly as close to working on a real patient as possible. The UMKC Dental Clinic services the Kansas City community and surrounding region and sees about 400-500 patients a day. Exposure to clinical dentistry in the first semester of the first year is a hallmark of our program through clinic rotations and dental assisting.
