ARDRASTA ZOO
COMMENTS FROM PREVIOUS VISITORS:Absolutely loved this place. Was such a natural setting for the animals. Loved how it wasn't crowded with people. You could walk right up to the flamingos and peacocks. We also enjoyed feeding the beautiful Lory birds apples. One of the highlights of our trip!!We absolutely enjoyed Ardastra Gardens when we were in Nassau. Loved the Flamingo show and them walking around among the peacocks! Many birds and other animals to see. Feeding the Parrots were something I've never done and I enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend going to if you're in Nassau. In the afternoon after site seeing landmarks you may want to stop at Junkanoo Beach on the way back and enjoy a little beach time.
JUNKANOO BEACH
The music of the Bahamas is associated primarily with [Junkanoo]; festivities take place in the early morning of 26 December and 1 January; an absorbing, colorful celebration and one of the Bahamas’ most renowned events.Or after several site seeing venues take the rest of the afternoon off and lay on the white sandy beach next to the Blue Turquoise waters. At the end of the day head back to the barn:Dock Space #10849 Woodes Rogers Walk where the "Lil Nassau" Glass Bottom Boat Docks.Next to Prince George Plaza / Wharf Cruise Ship Docks. What travelers are sayingWe went to Junkanoo Beach from the cruise port and had plans to tiki bar hop along the beach but were invited to sit at the first bar we came across.Located about a 10 to 15 minuets away from downtown or the cruise ship terminal (or a 17 USD taxi ride away),You will find it a nice beach but sometimes a little crowded. Not as quiet as your own private beach experience foing farther west on Bay street. At the end of your excursion tour return to from whence you started along Bay Street back to Woods Rogers Walk.
