Entrance to Wattle Park

This is a good starting point for your walk through Wattle Park. It is directly opposite the final stop (named Elgar Road) of the number 70 tram, which runs from Docklands and Flinders Street in Melbourne, through Richmond, and then runs the length of Riversdale Road through Camberwell to Wattle Park. Please note that the stop announced as Wattle Park is three stops before this one. You can't miss this stop because it is the terminus where the trams stop and reverse back to Melbourne.

2

Junction of footpath

The footpath reaches a Y junction here. Please take the left fork and follow the path through the woods.

3

Bend in the footpath

The footpath veres to the left here and climbs up an incline for about half a kilometre. At the top of the rise on your right, as you walk up this path, you will see two W-class trams, that are now used as picnic huts. More about this later!!

4

Junction of footpaths

At the top of the path, multiple paths meet. On the left, the path leads down to Elgar Road and Deakin University. Continuing ahead takes you out of the park. To your right is the Wattle Park Oval, used for cricket in the summer. Turn sharp right to walk along the edge of the oval.
