Welcome to Carlton!
We invite you to explore our city in a unique way. This historic walking and biking tour tells our story through photographs. With the European settlers, many from Sweden, we became a rail stop for getting grain, lumber, and other commodities to the coast near the Tillamook area. Our story’s audio function tells about prominent figures and the roles they played. Many of our historic building have intriguing tales and serve as today’s wine tasting rooms, inns, shops and restaurants.
Our very earliest residents, the native Yamhelas tribe, found their way around this land by the stars. Now you are guided by modern technology. GPS connects to your personal device and provides a map of several points of interest in and around the city.
As you discover Carlton, say hello to a local or ask a business about their history. They’re glad to share.
Enjoy Carlton. We’re glad you’re here!
