Kapoho Tidepools
Kapoho Tide pools – 7mi (11min) from Lava TreeKapoho Tide Pools are considered to be the best snorkeling on the Hilo side. This location is unique for many reasons, one of them is the fact that, it is fed by naturally heated fresh spring water. Bring water shoes. Recommended stay: 1-2hrs.The tide pools are located in a neighborhood and there is no parking inside, so you park in the visitor parking at Kapoho Dr and Kikiao St, and it’s about a 10min walk, about 1/3 of a mile to the tidepools. Most people enter into the tidepools on Waiopae Rd, but you can also enter the deepest and largest pools from the Trail of Wonder, at the end of Kapoho Kai Dr.

Isaac Hale Beach Park/Pohoiki Warm Spring
Isaac Hale, aka Pohoiki is an oceanfront park, boat launch and surf location along Pohoiki Bay. Beautiful views both up and down the coast make Isaac Hale a wonderful place to stop and relax. The Pohoiki warm springs are part of the Isaac Hale Beach Park. To find the biggest pond (which is actually a collapsed lava tube), locate the boat ramp, and from there follow the coastline for about two minutes. The hot pond is on your right about 80 yards inland. https://www.lovebigisland.com/hot-ponds/
