Commellini Estate
Welcome to the historical Commellini Estate! We will begin the tour in front of the main indoor venue. If you are here during office hours please feel free to come on in. If you doing this tour outside of office hours or the main doors are closed, please feel free to continue the tour and peek through all of the doors and windows. Although this is not ideal, as we much prefer you get to be inside, do not hesitate to be snoopy so you can get the best feel of the indoor locations. Let’s get started….
Foyer
The foyer can be setup and used in many ways. Common arrangements include placing the guestbook and gift table on either side of the foyer. Often the DJs will setup here for weddings that choose to do both indoor and outdoor seating, or for weddings with a reception indoors and dancing outdoors under the portico.Special Note: Take note of the pocket doors that are often used for the grand entrance.
Main Indoor Venue
The Main Venue was originally built in 1941, and has a very rich and colorful history. It features a beautiful terrazzo dance floor, glowing wood paneling three crystal chandeliers, and four handmade gold-leafed Corinthian columns. The main venue can seat 120 people with a dance floor. That being said, our average wedding guests count is between 150-200 people during wedding season (May-October) and a table layout with indoor and outdoor combination is common.Special Notes: There is a state of the art heating, cooling and sound system. Our sound system resides inside of the 1920 Art Deco Jukeboxes and plays in the main venue, bathrooms, bar, deck and portico and includes a wireless microphone. The system has the ability to play CDs, or anything with an headphone jack hook up (computer, iPads, iPods, iPhones, etc).
Restrooms
Yes- as silly as it may sound we have included the bathrooms in the walking tour. We often receive the question if there on-site restrooms. In addition, we actually pride ourselves on our restrooms and get complimented on how ornate and nice they are. You will not be using a porta-john if you select Commellin Estate as your wedding venue.
Included Decorations
We would like to pause the walking tour, while you are still in the main venue to discuss setup and décor. In all of our wedding packages we include tables, chairs, linens, over 30 different décor and centerpiece options as well as the setup and teardown. We have an entire building dedicated to décor options which can be toured upon request with an event coordinator. You may use as many of the options that you would like. Please note all of these items are included at no additional charge. These items are meant to be an asset when planning your event, not prohibitory. If you would like to bring in your own decor, that is absolutely fine. Please scan through the photos to see a few of the included options. Lastly, once you have booked with Commellini Estate you will receive access to are All-In-One Wedding Planning Program. This program assists with guests list, budget, timeline, seating chart, table layout, to do list, vendor search, wedding apps, music selection, ceremony details and reception details and décor. The $175 beverage service fee includes however many bartenders are needed per bar station. In other words it is not per bartender. We can also setup a remote bar pending on your preference. It is recommended for parties over 200 people to do 2 bars so that guests are not waiting in line for very long.If you would like your event to stay alcohol-free, we have the options of serving coffee, tea, pop, juice, italian sodas, or mocktails from the bar instead
Patio
The patio is frequently used for cocktail hour, dancing, photobooths, or additional seating. We have 6 gorgeous glass and iron deck furniture that can seat 30 people. We can also set the deck with round tables seating up to 50 guests.Special Notes: The large willow tree that hangs over the deck is lit with twinkle lights and creates a very romantic atmosphere for dancing or as a photo opportunity.

This location is right along the edge of Spring Creek where you can hear the tranquil sounds of the rushing water. The capacity for this location is 185 guests. Included in all packages are various décor options for the white Tuscan gazebo, although you are more than welcome to bring in your own unique elements or keep it simple. This location has also been used for creek side dinners, yard games, and various other activities.Special Notes: During spring, the right bank is filled with wild flowers. The flower pots on the left side are filled with tall ivy that cascades down the wall. The bridge beyond the trellis is frequently used as a first look location because the 9 foot waterfall on the other side is great for photos (there is a staircase to get to the bridge on the opposite of the wall)
Portico Location
The gorgeous outdoor covered portico area has many uses. Most often it is used for dancing under the stars during the warm month. However it is also used for ceremonies, buffet presentation, outdoor reception, over flow seating, and band or other musician setup. The capacity for this location is 225 guests for a reception and 120 for a ceremony

The pots surrounding the pond are filled with flowers and ferns in season.Special Notes: If you continue to walk south there is a flat location of grass that can also host ceremonies.

Our second indoor location and it is our most intimate event space for weddings less than 60 people, and receptions less than 40 people. In addition this space is often used as cocktail hour and/or grooms room and features a 70 inch tv.Special Notes: Commelini Estate is known for its Prohibition past and for hiding moonshine in the many underground tunnels. Building 30 is the most photographed building. Please feel free to walk both North and South to see the different photo options.Special Notes: If continue walking north you will find an old wine barrel, a mossy staircase that leads to nowhere, and a road access to the prairie and woodland forest. The prairie is frequently used as a sunset photo location.
Road to Access the Prairie
Here you will find the road to the prarie. Please feel free to drive on top of the prarie and into the forest. Included in our packages is engagement photo time. We allow our couples to take engagement photos at the estate. This is a great opporrtunity for your photographer to become aquainted with the estate and what features you like best to be captured in your day of photos.Warning: During the winter this road can be very treachurous. We absolutely do NOT recommend driving up this road if there is any snow (even an inch) or if it is icy conditions. You will get stuck! For winter weddings wanting to access the prairie and forest, we have a paved road located off the Estate via Hazard Rd. Please inquire with your event coordinator for directions to this road.
