This new Eritrean cafe offers a selection of meat and vegetarian dishes, served on spongy injera bread. The dishes are similar to those that offered at Ethiopian restaurants, but Yordanos Gebre, whose family owns the cafe, says that Eritrean cuisine uses less oil. Star Food Market and Berbere mural.

Mosaic On A Stick

Artist Lori Greene, creator of the Berbere mural at 555 Snelling Ave. has her studio, classroom and mosaic supply shop inside this former Hamline Park building. The building was built in 1938 and designed by Clarence Wigington, America's first African-American municipal architect.
