Grand Coloane Resort

Our tour starts in Grand Coloane Resort. In front of the Hotel' main entrance, we have a lawn area with flags, from where we can see all Hac Sa beach. Following a small path near this sightseeing area, we access Hac Sa beach. Walking along the beach, or along a path near it, we will reach our second point: Hac Sa beach and surroundings, wich starts with the "Leisure area of Hac Sa beach".

Hac Sa Beach and surroundings

Hac Sa beach has several entertaining areas besides the beach, as:The Leisure Area at Hac Sa Beach, frequented by locals that come here to do picnics, play sports or simply enjoy the day. A Municipal Swimming Pool with Olympic size The well known Restaurant Fernando, with typical Portuguese food A park for kids Some outdoor shops, which have food and utilities for the beach And a nautic club

Coloane mountain entrance point

From Hac Sa Beach car park, through Luis de Camões street - sided by Helen Garden buildings - we reach the entrance point to Coloane mountain. It has the code number C36 of the mountain circuits.

Crossing point C12 of Coloane mountain

Climbing the stone steps from Point C36 we will reach Point C12 - from where we turn right and go straight until point C15.It is a hard part of the circuit given its many steps. But, in the end, we will have some seats and a table to rest a bit and drink some water.

Coloane mountain - Point C15

From Point C15 we access the Picnic park on the mountain's peak. We can enjoy some interesting scenic views along the way. One of them, a bit off-circuit, is the Stone watch tower, accessible through point C13 - you have to climb a few stairs to reach it and then come back...

Alto de Coloane Park

In the Alto de Coloane Park we have a play area for children and picnic facilities. Although requiring cleaning of the vegetation for a better scenic view, we can have it along the stairs we climbed to reach this area. From there, you can have great view over Hac Sa area!

A-Ma Cultural Village

A-Ma cultural village is a 7,000 sqm cultural complex from the 17th or 18th century which celebrates the godess of seafarers. The village architecture mainly comprises a pavilion-style front gate, a carved marble altar, Tin Hau Palace, Dressing Hall along with Bell Tower and Drum Tower.The grand complex attracts A-Ma devotees and interested tourists alike for a visit. It is worth visiting!

A-Ma goddess statue

A-Ma is the goddess of seafarers. This statue, sculptured by Lung Man Nin and erected in 1998, is the tallest A-Ma statue in the world!Legend relates that A-Ma protected fishermen and merchants who sailed to Macau. In gratitude for her protection from the perils of the sea, a temple was erected on Barra hill and she was worshipped long before the Portugueses arrived, back in the 16th century. When the Portugueses settled here, they called the land "Macau", meaning "the port of A-Ma".

Coloane mountain - Point C17

From this point you can enjoy a great view over Hac Sa under chinese pavillion. A great place to seat and relax a bit!

Hac Sa Barrage Park

In this park you can enjoy the scenic view over the lake of the barrage, the Paddleboats (open from 11am to 5pm every day, for 2 or 4 persons, 20 or 40Mops respectively for each 20min), the grass skiing ground (reserved for children aged 3 or above and with a maximum height of 145cm, it is opened every Saturday and Sunday from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 13.30 to 17.00 - free).You can also walk on the route around the lake and cross over the barrage.On the entrance of the park there is a picnic area, where you can get some drinks from the available machines.

Leisure Area Hac Sa Beach

Leaving the Hac Sa Barrage Park, you arrive to the Hac Sa road. You have to cross it and find the path that will take you back to the Laisure Area at Hac Sa Beach.After the journey, you can either relax on the beach or go straight to Grand Coloane Resort and have a long bath at the pool... if you have booked a room there...
