Dawn Redwood (Matasequoia glyptostroboides)

The Dawn Redwood belongs to the conifer species and is related to the giant sequoia but sheds its leaves seasonally. The needles are opposite, 1-3 cm long. They are bright fresh green turning a foxy red-brown in the summer. There are two Dawn Redwood trees on Prospect Avenue and several other ones on the streets of Princeton, among them a beautiful example of Marquand Park

Kentucky Coffee ( Gymnocladus dioicus)

Relatively fast growing tree that sheds its leaves early during the fall. The tree bears large bean pods. The beans were used by early settlers as a substitute for coffee

Medium-size common street tree imported from Asia. Tree as a short trunk with branches growing upward in a V shape. The Zelkova has compound leaves with elliptical leaflets with serrated ednges.

Widely-used mid-sized ornamental tree with conical crown. Blooms with white flowers in the spring and retains leaves well into the fall
