Cape Town is truly a city that has it all. It’s located on the water and is surrounded by towering green peaks, but still has the vibe of a bustling, yet laid-back city.No matter where you turn, you’re surrounded by the city’s rich history and breathtaking nature, which results in an overwhelming amount of activities to offer its tourists.Hi! My name’s Carly and I’m a 22-year-old travel, food & health blogger from LA, soon-to-be certified special education teacher and nutritionist, and self-proclaimed world traveler. For as long as possible, I’ll be traveling lightly around the world in every sense of the word:The way I cook- I love all food, healthy and unhealthy, but my thoughts are why spend the time and effort cooking something that makes you feel terrible? The way I pack -it’s hard to move around this much when your weighed down by a heavy suitcase The way I spend- the only way to travel for as long as my bank account will allow And lastly, the way I live life- always embracing a mindset that’s positive, adventurous and stress-free!!Every day I’ll be posting pictures of my travels, healthy recipes, heath and travel tips, & everything in between. I hope you enjoy my adventures Thanks for visiting my site! http://light-travels.co/

Take the Ferry and Tour Robben Island
This island is where Nelson Mendella, the most influential leader in South African history, was incarcerated for 18 years due to his fight against the apartheid.Being one of the most famous revolutionaries not just in South Africa, but in the world, this prison tour is a huge attraction to tourists from all over.Even if you don’t know much about this incredible leader, I guarantee you will leave the island with a deeper appreciation and knowledge for what he did for South Africa and our world as a whole.

Hike (or Cable Car) to Table Mountain
Table Mountain, which was recently named one of the “New 7 Wonders of Nature,” was one of the most gorgeous hikes I’ve ever done and the view at the end is out of this world! On one side your faced with the rugged, lush mountain and on the other is an indescribably vast view of the city and ocean. It was definitely tough- 2 hours up steep steps and a bit frightening when the wind started blowing (I’m already clumsy as is lol)- but it made the whole experience and making it to the top that much more rewarding! If hiking isn’t your thing though, take the cable car up and down, which runs from sunrise to sundown!

Explore the V&A Waterfront/Wharf
This place has tons of great food, shopping, and activities to offer and the whole layout of the harbor and the architecture is super charming with its European, colonial feel. Some highlights to hit up are the Cape Wheel, the food stands in the V&A Market on the Wharf, and seal-watching in the bay.

Spend a Beach Day at Camps Bay
Camps Bay is probably the most beautiful beach in all of Cape Town with its turquoise waters, rocky cliffs, and white sand coast that’s lined with numerous beach cafes, bars and shops. Plus, the view of the 12 Apostles, A.K.A that beautiful mountain range surrounding the beach, is unbeatable. To locals, this beach is known as the “Miami Beach” of Cape Town and the view above shows you why!
