Day Hall

Day Hall is where students can find the Bursar, and Financial Aid and Student Employment. You will also see founder Ezra Cornell's seal and medallion on the front of the building.

Cornell Store

The Cornell Store is were students can find school supples and great Cornell gear.

Sage Chapel

Nonsectarian education was a principle Cornell was founded on and Sage Chapel is nondenominational and hosts many events. Donated funds by Henry Sage help create this beautiful building with stained glass windows and other great image in the chapel.

Ho Plaza

Ho Plaza extends between the main entrances to The Campus Store and Willard Straight Hall, and across the front of Willard Straight Hall to the south entrance of the building.

Gannett Health Center

Home to Gannett Health Services; primary-care medical services, physical therapy, psychological counseling, health education, full-service pharmacy, walk-in appointments, and 24-hour phone consultation service. Willard Straight Hall

Named after its benefactor, Willard Straight, Class of 1901, who donated money to the university under the stipulation that it not be used for any academic or administrative purpose, Willard Straight Hall was one of the first student unions in the country. The building is home to three dining facilities, a ceramics studio, movie theater, and multipurpose room. The dean of students, in charge of the more than 800 student-run clubs and organization, also has an office here.

Clock Tower

The 173-foot-tall Jenny McGraw Clock Tower and it's chimes were featured in Cornell's opening ceremonies in 1868. Today there are 21 chimes, playing three concerts a day during the academic year. If you are up for the climb (161 steps) you can experience the musical tradition and enjoy panoramic views.

Olin and Uris Libraries

These are the two largest of the 18 libraries on campus. With Nearly 8 million volumes and thousands of newspaper, journal, and magazine collections, Cornell University Library is one of the largest in the country. Along with extensive resources for research, the libraries provide study and break areas. Uris Library is open 24 hours a day evening on Friday and Saturday during the academic year.

Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art

Looking to the north west corner of the Arts Quad you will see a tall build like the one pictured and this is the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art. Designed by I.M. Pei, the six-tory museum displays much of Cornell's 30,000 works of art, including a stunning Asian collection, European and American art, African sculpture and textiles, and pre-Columbian sculpture and ceramics. Open free of charge, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm.

Arts and Sciences

An intimate liberal arts education within a large universityThe largest college within Cornell, with 40 majors ranging from Biology to Government to Classics, the College of Arts and Science offers a rich curriculum with some of the most distinguished faculty in the world. All A&S faculty teach and advise undergraduates. Upon entering the college, students will receive an advisor who can assist them in choosing from the 2,000 undergraduate courses offered each year. As part of the liberal arts eduction, A&S students are required to meet distribution, breadth, and language requirements.

Architecture, Art, and Planning

If you look left (North) down the path you will see Architecture, Art, and Planning.Teaching and practicing architecture, fine art, and city and regional planning as creative and powerful forces with the potential to improve the world.The smallest college within Cornell, the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning prepares students to address the complex issues of the 21st century through the application of the art and science of design. The Architecture program is a five-year professional degree program (bachelor of architecture). The Fine Arts program is a four-year program (bachelor of fine arts). The department of City and Regional Planning offers a four-year program (bachelor of science in urban and regional studies). AAP also offers experiential programs in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Rome, Italy.

Bailey Hall

The largest auditorium on campus with 1,324 seats, Bailey is the perfect venue for concerts, performances, and speakers. A wide variety of events through the years has featured Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Jr.; Spike Lee; Elie Wiesel; Hugh Masekela; Toni Morrison; John Cleese; and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra - as well as acts by student groups. Bailey also serves as the lecture room for the largest course at Cornell, Psychology 101.

Human Ecology (HE)

Looking left and beyond CALS Quad is the College of Human Ecology.Responding to human needs through research, education, and outreach.Students in the College of Human Ecology study contemporary issues and apply practical solutions to challenges facing people across the state and throughout the world. They study nutrition and health, design and technology, human development, and policies that secure exonomic and social well-being for individuals, families, and communities. H.E. students explore the relationship between people and the world around them. The college is home to the only interior design program in the Ivy League and the only PhD program in apparel design in the country.

Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS)

Addressing emerging issues in the agricultural, environmental, life, and social sciences with the goal of improving lives and developing leaders for the future.The largest contract college at Cornell, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences offers academic programs that include physical life sciences such as Biology, Plant Science, Animal Science, and Entomology, as well as social life sciences such as Communication, Education, and the Dyson Schol of Applied Economics and Management. (The college's accredited undergraduate business program is highly ranked among business programs nationwide.)

Meal plans options are available for students, faculty, and staff to provide flexibility, diversity, and healthy, satisfying dining.

Bio Quad

You are now on the cornell for the Bio Quad.While a large amount of research occurs in the life science buildings surrounding the quad, research projects go on continuously in every discipline across campus. From working with historical archives to living organisms, opportunities abound for undergraduates to participate in research. Students can do research with professors as volunteer work, for credit, or as a paying job, starting in their first year.

Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR)

Advancing the world of workAt the ILR School, studies of management and public policy are consolidated and lead to a bachelor of science in Industrial and Labor Relations. Here you will study economics and public policy, organizational behavior and human resources management, collective bargaining and dispute resolution. ILR combines the social sciences, humanities, business, and law. A majority of ILR graduates go directly into the workforce after graduation, focusing on jobs in human resources and financial services. ILR is also a popluar track for pre-law students.

Barton Hall

Orginally designed as a drill hall for the U.S. Army's Department of Military Science, Barton today services as an indoor track and home to the ROTC program and the Cornell Police headquarters. Cornell is the only Ivy League university to offer four brances of ROTC (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines); nearly 500 students participate. The Cornell Police department enforces New York State laws and protects the safety of students on campus. Our safety systems include Blue Light phones, seen everywhere on campus; the Blue Light bus system, providing free transportation after 6pm; and the Blue Light escort service, accompanying students across campus in the evening and late-night hours.

Teagle Hall

If you look across the street you will see Teagle Hall.Students may participate in a variety of sports, many with offices here. As part of the Ivy League conference, Cornell is an NCAA Division 1 university. From men and women's basketball to lacrosse to crew, our student athletes excel. For those who wish to participate in athletics on a smaller scale, a wide variety of club-level and intramural sports are available. All undergraduates are required to take two semesters of physical education, ranging from cardio boxing to Swedish massage.

Hotel Administration (SHA)

Hospitality leadership through learningThe first of its kind and the only Ivy League program in hospitality management, the School of Hotel Administration offers a curriculum about all aspects of running a business - strategizing, planning, design and construction, financing and marketing, management, and facility operations. The most sophisticated service-oriented management school in the world, SHA requires all students to perform a minimum of 800 hours of service work. Graduates, who earn bachelor of science degrees in hotel administration, become industry leaders at hotels and restaurants, casinos, cruise lines, spas, theme parks, as well as in related fields of finance, real estate, travel, and tourism.

Engineering

Look to your left and down the hill you will see Duffield Hall and the Engineering Quad.Following a tradition of innovation by engaging in cutting-edge exploration and developmentStudents in the Cornell Engineering partake in a fundamentally creavtive endeavor with a vast array of applications. They design, build, and test products, improve the world of medicine; inform and shape laws; create and drive businesses; and become research luminaries. With one of the broadest curricula in the world of engineering, the college offeres 13 majors, 15 minors, dozens of concentrations, and the option of creating an individual course of study. Students work together applying theorectical expertise in practical ways via research and group work. Student project teams create engergy-efficient, solar-powered homes (Solar Decathlon), robots to detect land mines (MineSweeper), and a 100-mpg car (Automotive X Prize competition).
