Opened in the early 1960s, the Buford Ellington championship golf course at Henry Horton State Park is one of the finest courses in the state of Tennessee. This challenging course is heavily treed with hardwoods and measures 5,625 yards from the Forward tees and 7,060 yards from the Championship tees. The fairways are generous in width, the greens larger than average and four sets of tees are available to accommodate every skill level. The greens have been re-contoured and replaced with Champion Ultradwarf Bermuda and have been extremely well received. The Ewell Butler Golf Course opened in 1952. The club started out with 46 members. Membership costs were $10 per person. The first Marshall County Open was held at the Ewell Butler Golf Course in 1952. Bob Eaves won the Marshall County Open in 1958, beating out D.B. Minor and Jeff Fields. Today, the Ewell Butler Golf Course has over 150 members with 103 personal cart storage spaces. As of 2015, Andy Cook holds the 9 hole course record with a 28. Old Stone Fort Golf Course officially opened in April 2017.Manchester Country Club was originally opened in the 1960's. The state purchased the land and ran it as a public course. The course was then closed by the state in September 2011. Tink Driver purchased the 140 acres in 2016.
