'The Unveiling' - Gus Eagleton

Sharon Billinge is a Sydney-based artist with a practice concerned with people and building community. She has over 25 years of experience making art and has partnered with organisations such as Sydney University, Lendlease, UTS, Arup and 107 projects as well as numerous Councils, community based groups, schools and support providers. Her work has been exhibited in institutions around Australia and she has painted many public artworks and private commissions within Sydney. In 2017 her mural ‘Shelter’ was awarded first prize in the Wall2Wall competition and in 2018 she was awarded an Inner West Arts and Culture grant. She was also part of the creative program for the 2019 Inner West Edge Newtown and Edge Ashfield festivals. She has also project managed a mini mural festival, completed a Newtown Art seat commission and been awarded three cultural development grants.

Karla Hayes is a multi-disciplinary artist working on Dharawal land. She completed her Honours in Design in Visual Communications at UTS in 2019 with a series of international student-led creative design & public art projects and an international design award under her belt. In 2020 Karla began applying her design skills to large scale art installations, forming creative collaborations, rapidly upskilling within the fine art world and forging a creative practice that encourages thoughtful engagement with Australian flora and fauna.

'Fairy Wrens' by David W Houghton

‘Fairy Wrens’ by David Houghton, on the side of the Central Mission building, depicts a beautiful sunset scene with two realistic fairy wrens. This artwork was commissioned by the Ipswich City Uniting Church in 2018 as part of their 170th year celebrations.
