The Sac Heritage Walking Tours app is your guide to the historic architecture and diverse culture of urban Sacramento. The app includes three walking tours developed by Sacramento Heritage, Inc., including the Capitol Area, City Hall Area and J & K Street Commercial Corridors. We’ve created these self-guided walking tours to help locals and visitors to Sacramento enjoy the city’s historical landmarks at their own pace.
About us: Sacramento Heritage, Inc. (Sac Heritage) was incorporated by the City of Sacramento in 1975 as a 501©3 not-for-profit corporation governed by a nine-member volunteer board of directors. The board includes representatives from the City’s Preservation Commission, Planning Commission, Housing Code Advisory and Appeals Board, and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Commission, in addition to at-large members with expertise in preservation, history, housing, construction and finance. Our purpose is to protect and preserve buildings and neighborhoods that exemplify the historic, architectural, or cultural heritage of the City of Sacramento, and to educate and advocate on their behalf.
