Tour Overview
Welcome to the Downieville Walking Tour. This tour is about half a mile in distance and includes 6 historic stops. Each stop includes audio descriptions and photos from history. Feel free to explore any and all local sights. As you approach one of the 6 designated stops, the audio description will automatically play and help bring the history of this small mining town to life.
You will find parking near the local gas station. There are plenty of places to explore. You may want to enjoy the Yuba River, or perhaps a picnic, Audio cues are provided to guide you along this journey and each stop is full of the history that is Downieville.
From the Parking area walk south on Nevada Street crossing the Durgan Bridge. Turn right at Durgan Flat Way and you will see your first stop: the county Government building.
