The Van Orden Mansion, also known as the Sauk County Museum, is a 14 room Tudor Revival style mansion located in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Built in 1903, the mansion is an excellent example of late Victorian architecture, featuring ornate woodwork, stained glass windows, and elegant period furnishings. Once the private residence of prominent businessman Jacob Van Orden, the building now serves as a museum operated by the Sauk County Historical Society. The museum offers exhibits on local history, including artifacts and displays highlighting the heritage of the area's Indigenous Peoples, 19th Century living, Civil War artifacts, and more. At Christmas time, the museum comes alive with the joy of the season.
