Disc golf is played like normal golf, except with a disc.
There are two types of discs, drivers and mid-rangers. You would use drivers on all the par 5 and longer par 4 holes. Use the mid-rangers for shorter tee shots off par 4 holes and for chipping and putting. It is fine to use mid rangers for the entire course if you just want to carry one disc.
Scoring - One stroke for each throw you take. Strokes are added together for each of the nine holes to make your total. Player with the lowest total score after all holes wins that round. You can just play holes 1-3 for a shorter game or how many holes you want!
Tee throws must be made with one foot on the tee mat. A run up is allowed. See map for tee locations.
One throw penalty if you land in an ‘Out of Bounds’ area (see map).
Collect disc from Out of Bounds area and take next throw from where the disc crossed the Out of Bounds
After teeing off, the player whose disc is farthest from the basket always throws next. This continues for all throws.
The player with the least number of strokes on the previous hole is first to tee off on the next hole, second least throws second and so on.
A run-up is allowed for tee throws and fairway throws. All further throws must be taken with one foot on where your disc landed last. No run-up is allowed when putting (within 10m of the basket).
A disc that comes to rest inside the basket or in the chains constitutes a successful completion of the hole. A disc that comes to rest on top or on the bottom base of the basket does NOT count.
Any disc that comes to rest more than 2m above the ground (ie, in a tree or bush) is considered unplayable. The disc must be retrieved and throw below the disc and a one throw penalty stroke is awarded.
Never throw until the player(s) ahead of you are out of your throw zone. Make sure the area is clear before you throw!
Please take care of tree and plants. And don't forget to tip your caddie!
Enjoy the game of Disc Golf! It’s fun and exciting!
